MUGHAL EMPIRE
The social hierarchy of India is that the constitution gurantees all people equal rights. Society in the Mughal Empire was organized on a fedual basis. The head of the social system was Emperor. Next in rank were the nobility along the Zamindars. The Mughal's nobles monipolized most of the jobs in the Country. They formed a priveleged class. Clan or family links were most important considerations for recruitment and admission to the aristocratic class of society. Zamindars or chieftains contributed to nobility. Large class of merchants and traders. They had their own based on tradition and protection of life and property. During Mughal period the Indian society was in the process of developing into a common society for religious groups of Hindus and Muslims.
The top social class is the King and Nobles. They lived in luxury and had abundant resources. They had reckless festivitys and grand banquets. They spent their money very freely. They had big homes and had the biggest and best things. The wealthy girls were educated privately.
The middle class was the merchants. They lived comfortably. They lived with some luxuries but had a pretty normal life. They spent their money more wisely. Girls and boys went to the same school and were educated the same way.
The poor class was the worst. The lived without adequate clothing and sometimes didnt have food. They had low paying jobs and worked long hours. Some were voluntary slaves and were herassed by the higher class. The higher class would make false charges against the poor class for more money.
